This 3 Bottle set is a collection of the 2018 Barrel Selection from De la Luz wines. The wines from 2018 in my opinion for Bordeaux varietals, are some of the best produced in Washington State. Each of these wine were aged in a unique style barrel, acknowledging the important role barrels play in capturing the classic style of Washington wine.

The Merlot - sourced from Two Blondes Vineyard in Yakima Valley was aged in a barrel that was seasoned by being submerged in water, much like a brining. This type of barrel gives so much power to the wine, strengthling the frame on the wine and preserving the freshness of this beautiful varietal.

“El Rey” Cabernet Franc - also sourcd from Two Blondes vineyards, was aged in a barrel that seasoned in a kiln and toasted in a slow manner. This type of barrel yields solid tannin structure and gives body and a strong finish to the wine.

Cabernet Sauvignon - Sourced from Kamiak Vineyards, one of the oldest vineyards in Washington State. The barrel used on this wine was traditionally seasoned in the open air and later toasted in a “slow and low” method, yeilding a carmelized sweetness to the wine. The body of this wine is firm and a classic expression of Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington state.

These 3 bottles bought individually would retail $150, but as a set only are $120.
